We understand you can't wait to crawl into your SJUMO bedding, but we recommend washing it first.
Washing Instructions
Always wash your bedding with similar colours to keep your bedding vibrant, and remove it from the machine promptly for a fresh scent.
For Silky Smooth Bedding:
- Wash at 40°C with a mild, bleach-free detergent; 60°C is also possible for extra hygiene.
- Do not use fabric softeners to maintain the fabric’s smooth texture.
- Air drying is the most sustainable option, but a short, low-heat tumble dry setting works too. Good to know: it dries in no time.
- No need to iron (and not suitable for it either)
For Tencel ™ Sateen Bedding:
- Wash at 30°C with a mild detergent, without bleach.
- Do not use fabrics softeners to preserve the fabric’s natural softness.
- Turn inside out and wash with soft items only.
- Air drying is both the most sustainable and gentlest for the fabric. TENCEL™ naturally dries quickly.
- Note: TENCEL™ is a 100% natural and delicate material. This gives it its exceptional softness, but also makes it more prone to creasing and friction than our Silky Smooth fabric. The subtle natural sheen may fade slightly with time - the comfort, however, remains.
How often should you wash your bedding?
It’s best to change your bedding once a week. While you sleep, you can lose between 0.3 to 2 liters of moisture per night, which adds up over a week, along with the bacteria, sweat, and dead skin cells we naturally shed. Regularly changing your bedding ensures a more hygienic and comfortable sleep environment, leading to better night’s rest.
What about your pillowcase?
It’s important to wash your pillowcases regularly, at least once a week. If you wear makeup to bed or have sensitive skin, consider washing your pillowcase more often. Washing your face before bed can help keep your pillowcases fresher for longer.

The Advantage of SJUMO
One of the biggest advantages of SJUMO bedding? You hardly don’t need to iron it! Silky Smooth cannot be ironed, and Tencel Sateen could only be ironed on low heat on the inside. However, if you hang it out to dry immediately after washing, you can minimize wrinkles and make your bed wrinkle-free. Another great plus is that SJUMO bedding is hypoallergenic and absorbs moisture well, leaving little chance for bacteria to develop. Bacteria cannot easily attach to the smooth fibers, keeping your bedding fresh for longer and making it feel like it’s just been washed.
Sleep well!
