SJUMO places great importance on your privacy. We, therefore, process only data that we need for (the improvement of) our services and handle the information we collect about you and your use of our services with care.
This privacy statement applies to the use of the website and the services accessible through it provided by SJUMO BV. The effective date of these terms and conditions is 01/11/2024; with the publication of a new version, the validity of all previous versions expires.
SJUMO B.V. qualifies as the ‘Controller’ within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (‘GDPR’) and is therefore responsible for the processing of personal data. This privacy statement describes which data we collect about you, the purposes for which this data is used, and the conditions under which this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data against misuse, and which rights you have concerning the personal data you have provided to us.

1. General
SJUMO processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide it to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data we process:
- Your name, date of birth, gender, email address, and (billing and delivery) address;
- Company name, Chamber of Commerce registration number, and VAT number (if applicable);
- Payment information;
- (Mobile) phone number;
- Which product(s) you have ordered;
- Correspondence with SJUMO, where applicable;
- Behavioral data (online activities, internet use, and session duration);
- IP addresses and timestamps.
2. Purposes
SJUMO processes this personal data for the following purposes:
- To make your shopping experience as pleasant as possible and to tailor the website to your preferences;
- To assist you as best as possible when you contact us;
- To remind you of products that are still in your shopping cart;
- To process your payment;
- To send our newsletter and/or advertising brochure;
- To be able to call or email you if this is necessary to carry out our services;
- To inform you about changes to our services and products;
- To provide you with the option to create an account and view your order history;
- To deliver your order to your (home) address;
- To process any returns;
- For direct marketing purposes;
- To send you special offers and the latest news about SJUMO.
SJUMO tracks your browsing behavior across different websites to tailor our products and services to your needs. This allows us to manage our resources in a more targeted, efficient, and cost-effective manner and also reduces the risk of someone receiving information they find inappropriate or irrelevant. We process your personal data for this purpose based on our legitimate interests.
We may also use data about how you use our website to prevent, detect, and address fraud, abuse, and unlawful use, as well as to comply with court orders, government requests, or applicable law.
3. Legal basis
SJUMO processes personal data based on the performance of the contract, legitimate interest, or consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
4. Retention periods
SJUMO does not retain personal data longer than necessary, for a period of 36 months after the last visit to one of the webshops, unless SJUMO is required to retain personal data for a longer period by law. Marketing data will not be used for more than 24 months.
5. Rights of users
We ensure that your rights under the GDPR are safeguarded.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or object to the processing of your personal data by SJUMO, as well as the right to data transferability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send the personal data we have about you in a computer file to you or another organization specified by you. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data, or a request to withdraw your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to hello@sjumo.com. To ensure that the request for access is made by you, we ask that you include a copy of your ID with the request. In this copy, please black out your photo, MRZ passport number, and Citizen Service Number (BSN). This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as quickly as possible, but no later than within 4 weeks.
To no longer receive newsletters from us, you can always unsubscribe at the bottom of the newsletter.
6. Automated decision-making
SJUMO does not make decisions based on automated processing that can have (significant) consequences for individuals. This concerns decisions made by computer programs or systems without human intervention. SJUMO uses the following computer programs or systems:
- Shopify for the website and webshop
- Klaviyo
- Mollie Payments for processing payments
- Mijndomein for hosting
- Various plugins for social media
7. Security
SJUMO has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to secure users’ personal data against loss or unlawful processing, including the use of an SSL connection and encrypted storage of the data.
We also work with reputable parties such as Shopify for payments and Klaviyo for sending emails.
8. Data processors and transfer
SJUMO does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it if this is necessary for the execution of our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. With companies that process your data on our behalf, we conclude a data processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.
Your personal data is processed within the European Union. SJUMO has concluded the appropriate data processing agreements with (sub-)processors.
If personal data is processed outside the European Union, we ensure that appropriate protective measures are taken to protect this personal data. Specifically, we will comply with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
9. Cookies or similar techniques
As indicated by the cookie banner on the website, SJUMO uses different types of cookies on the website. Accepting cookies is not a condition for visiting the website. See SJUMO’s Cookie Policy.
